Marta
Ramos, Esq., is Senior Vice President and Compliance Director
for Popular North America. Prior to joining Banco Popular
North America in January, 2005, she served for 15 years
in different capacities within the Compliance Division in
Banco Popular de Puerto Rico. She holds the professional
designation, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).
Marta served in leadership roles
in numerous community and civic organizations. She was founding
member of Habitat for Humanity in Puerto Rico, member of
the Puerto Rico Community Foundation Consortium Advisory
Board, member of the Advisory Board of the Economic Education
Alliance of Puerto Rico, and a board member of the Peninsula
de Cantera Project, a comprehensive redevelopment initiative.
She also served as founder and past president of both the
CRA and Compliance Committees of the PR Bankers Association
and for three years was a member of the Consumer Advisory
Council of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington. Presently
she is a member of the Board of Directors of Vital Bridges,
a non-profit organization that helps people throughout metropolitan
Chicago impacted by HIV and AIDS to improve their health
and build self-sufficiency by providing food, nutrition,
housing, case management and educational services
She served two years in the U.S.
Marine Corps and holds both B.A. and J.D. degrees from
the Interamerican University in Puerto Rico.
